Voice breaks when speaking or singing
Weak voice
Reduced pitch range
Discomfort or tightness in the throat
Chronic coughing or throat clearing (a cough that lasts more than 8 weeks and does not respond to medical treatment)
Swallowing (dysphagia) can cause:
Difficulty keeping food, fluids or saliva in the mouth
Difficulty masticating solid foods
Coughing, throat clearing or choking when eating and drinking
Feeling of food or fluids building up in the throat or going down the wrong way

Aspiration pneumonia
Voice and swallowing difficulties can be quite distressing and can lead to loss of income, social isolation, and poorer general health and mental health outcomes.
